The harbour crane is used internationally for many different purposes, but mainly for loading and unloading materials and/or goods in and out of ships. In a port, work is often carried out for longer periods or throughout the day, which is why the harbour crane is often used during the darker hours of the day. To guarantee safety during lifting operations, it is essential to have sufficient lighting at the lifting site. Various guidelines have been drawn up for this purpose, including EN-12464-2. We provide you with a complete solution based on the most recent guidelines, allowing you to continue lifting at your project site in the dark hours of the day without any worries. We can even provide you with an installation without any light pollution and in the light colour 2200K for ports in nature reserves.

Harbour crane

A harbour crane is a unique type of crane that is typically mounted on a chassis that rides on rails or tyres. The harbour crane, as its name suggests, is located in ports where work is continuous and corrosion plays a major role. The port crane was developed accordingly and offers a port authority certainty of operation, delays can incur huge costs.

As a lot of work is done during the dark hours of the day, it is important that the lighting is in order and reliable. Light pollution plays an increasingly important role in lighting in port areas. We therefore advise you depending on your type of crane, the environment and situation. Our luminaires offer maximum reliability. As standard, for instance, they are already protected against corrosion thanks to a multi-layer powder coating based on 93% titanium. Floating Harbour Crane

A floating harbour crane is a unique type of crane typically mounted on a pontoon or barge. The floating harbour crane is flexible and can be moved quite quickly via water, unlike the ordinary harbour crane. As a result, the crane gets to many different project sites. The floating harbour crane is mostly used to move bulk material. This involves enormous vibrations and forces on the jib of the crane. Failures in this type of crane can involve gigantic costs.
