An earlier LED installation with sports floodlights did not perform in the port. We designed a new solution with tightly aimed DarkLicht luminaires on thirty new mast structures. Better beam control put more usable light on the yard at a fraction of the consumption.

Lighting for one of the heaviest ring cranes in the world. The challenge was not light output but keeping shadow and glare out at a hundred and sixty metres, under vibration, wind load and low temperature.

Tower crane lighting renewed with Ballast Nedam Materieel and Heddes. Because the DarkLicht luminaires are smaller, four fitted in the crane instead of three, aimed so that the light falls on the site only. Neighbours and wildlife are less affected than before.

Standard luminaires failed under heat combined with the cleaning routine. We built a food-grade version with borosilicate glass.

Close to the hot steel the temperature rises to +120 °C, the steel radiates infrared and the air is aggressive.
The raised process temperature destroyed the electronics of earlier luminaires; the heat-resistant version held up.
