Saint Patricksday SISK

After crane rental company Irlequip was challenged by its client SISK to illuminate the jib of the crane in green for Saint Patricksday, the company worked with JEL Products to create a thoughtful solution to illuminate the jib in beautiful green.

Heijmans increases safety

Luminaires used: DarkLight S60

Using various lighting calculations and tests, JEL Products worked with Heijmans to come up with a solution to increase safety around the collisions. Thanks to the lighting around the bots and the better illumination of the sign, traffic is made aware of the bots faster. A huge improvement in safety also say the drivers.

NMT & DMI | Network Day Den Helder

The Directorate of Material Conservation (DMI) - Royal Netherlands Navy is looking for new 'preferred suppliers'. The new, increasingly complex ships added to the naval fleet require far-reaching knowledge and expertise in maintenance and repair. As the DMI wants to cooperate even more with Dutch maritime suppliers to this end, today we are guests of the Royal Netherlands Navy in Den Helder, together with 60 other companies.

Introduction Swingbracket

JEL Products has fitted the Horizon Geodrill, an EU research vessel, with state-of-the-art LED floodlights. This upgrade improves visibility and safety, crucial for maritime research. The efficient LED technology increases durability and reduces energy consumption. This project marks JEL as a pioneer in advanced industrial lighting solutions. The Horizon Geodrill is now a shining example of modern maritime technology.

MHC Hoevelaken | 60% savings

MHC Hoevelaken is working on sustainability on a daily basis. In cooperation with the club, the second pitch has been equipped with LED lighting, now with 200lux illuminance for training. With this investment, the club is not only ahead in terms of sustainability but also light pollution reduction. This is hugely important given the club's location.

Lighting port terminal | Rotterdam

Commissioned by: DFDS Seaways B.V.
Luminaires used: DCbright Dark Light

Vlaardingen-based DFDS Seaways knew what savings could be made, having previously equipped another terminal with JEL Products luminaires in 2021. Now in 2023, the company has commissioned JEL Products to also retrofit the existing terminal in Vlaardingen with new luminaires at a savings of no less than 53%. The complete work also included replacing damaged light poles and replacing the electrical installation.

MAMMOET PTC | Project Rotterdam

Mammoet Europe owns 10 ring cranes with lifting capacities in excess of 1,000 tonnes. These cranes are used for highly specialised lifting work. To illuminate them properly, JEL Products designed a lighting solution for these cranes where this time the crane is located at Mammoet's Rotterdam branch in the Netherlands. The end result is spectacular

TV de Eemslag | 64% savings

TV de Eemslag is located in beautiful polder surroundings in the municipality of Bunschoten-Spakenburg. The club is actively taking many steps to increase its sustainability. Partly because the club is located directly in nature, it is important to prevent light pollution. The club has therefore had its eight tennis courts and five newly constructed padel courts converted from contingent lighting to nuisance-free fixtures by JEL Products.

DAKAR 2023 | EUROL RALLYSPORT

During preparations for DAKAR 2023, one of EUROL Rallysport team de Rooy's race vehicles was fitted with new LED lighting. In addition, the lighting at the bivouac has been completely replaced with new, brighter and more energy-efficient lighting. The tents have been fitted with special and robust fluorescent fixtures and the big truck has been fitted with extendable mast with area lights with 32,000 lumens each.

SV Otterlo | 57% savings

SV Otterlo is located in a beautiful wooded area in the municipality of Ede. The club is actively taking many steps to increase its sustainability. Partly because the club is located right next to nature, it is important to prevent light nuisance. The club therefore had both pitches converted from LED lighting that caused too much nuisance to nuisance-free luminaires by JEL Products.

SC Hoevelaken | 60% savings

SC Hoevelaken is actively taking many steps towards becoming a fully sustainable club. For example, the club recently had us replace its field lighting with Dark Licht LED fixtures. With this investment, the club is not only leading the way in terms of light pollution reduction, it is also saving 59% annually. The saving percentage is over 30% higher than the other alternatives could offer. In addition, the lighting quality on the pitch also received a considerable upgrade, while the illuminance increased only moderately to 120lux.

SC Hoevelaken | 67% savings

Commissioned by: KV Sparta Nijkerk

KV Sparta Nijkerk is growing and is working daily to do so as sustainably as possible. In cooperation with the club, both fields have been replaced with LED lighting, of which, thanks to the 230lux lighting strength, matches can now be played on the main pitch. With this investment, the club is not only progressive in terms of light pollution reduction, but also saves 67% annually. Control via the smartapp has also been realised.

Introduction of nuisance-free working light

To familiarise the market with a new possibility of safe working, we have presented a new standard for work lighting in cooperation with Klompé. No longer are colleagues around the paver or other work traffic hindered by the machine's lighting. Construction Machinery magazine wrote an extensive article about this.

DFDS vlaardingen terminal

DFDS Seaways at Vlaardingen recently received a world first. As the first port in the world, the company received the latest lighting innovation on their premises. An additional 30% of energy could be saved on the prescribed lighting plan with renowned luminaires. In addition, the lifetime of the Dark Licht luminaires was twice as long as the alternatives. The choice therefore fell on the quality of JEL Products.

Sparta Nijkerk | KNVB 350lux

Sparta Nijkerk expands. The club from beautiful Nijkerk (home town) has chosen our Dark Light fixtures for the renovated main pitch. The old lighting installation of 200lux has been replaced with 6 masts and already for 8 new masts with 16 fixtures and an illuminance of 350lux. Although the number of lux has almost doubled, the energy saving at full power is still around 30%. In addition, the field is DALI-controlled and beautiful light shows are possible!

HC Nijkerk | 65% Savings

HC Nijkerk received the scoop of being the first hockey pitch in the world to be equipped with Darklicht LED luminaires. With this investment, the club is not only progressive in terms of light pollution reduction, but also saves 74% annually on its energy bill. The lighting quality on the pitch also received a considerable upgrade in addition, the initial illuminance was increased by 30% and the light equality increased by 30% respectively.

Jeddah Superdome

With a diameter of 210 metres, a height of 46 metres and a covered area of over 34,636 square metres, the Jeddah Superdome breaks through two world records for building construction.Firstly, it is now the largest continuous (non-segmented, non-public) dome, a record previously held by the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, secondly, it is now also the world's largest geodesic dome. For the construction of this innovative project, JEL Products was able to design and supply a thoughtful lighting solution that allowed the construction of the dome to continue during evening hours under the required working conditions.

Sustainable, light-conscious construction site

Ballast Nedam and Heddes Bouw & Ontwikkeling B.V. are making the most of the switch to sustainable with Darklicht LED luminaires. Ballast Nedam Materieel is replacing all existing conventional 2 Kilowatt luminaires. This results in huge energy savings of no less than 73%, in addition, the unique properties of the Darklicht luminaire make the investment a socially responsible choice. This is because it is the only LED luminaire in the market suitable for these purposes that features full light shielding. This allows the construction site to be illuminated in line with applicable regulations (such as NEN-12464-2) without the same high light intensity radiating far beyond the boundaries of the construction site. In concrete terms, this means: no glare for nearby residents or nature and extremely efficient use of light and thus energy.

Mammoth PTC-200-DS

For a project by Mammoet, we were allowed to fit the 194-metre-long PTC200DS ring crane, with a lifting capacity of no less than 5 thousand tonnes (yes, that's 5,000,000 kilos), with a sophisticated lighting solution. The crane was erected along the coast of Norway, where it will be used for a long period to assemble several large wind turbines for offshore power generation.

Liebherr LTM-1650-8.1

Commissioned by: Mammoet Europe B.V.
Luminaires used: DCbright Piranhas

Mammoet Netherlands recently received a world first. The company was the first in the world to receive Liebherr's updated LTM1650-8.1 telescopic crane. This gigantic 8-axle has a maximum lifting capacity of 700 tonnes. The new crane brings with it many technological developments. JEL Products was commissioned to provide the work lighting for this gigantic crane.

The light tower of the future

Commissioned by: Heijmans N.V.
Luminaires used: DCbright Darklight

For Heijmans infra, we converted light towers from conventional luminaires to the latest development in light emission and light pollution control. This resulted in energy savings of 80% on top of an enormous gain in illuminated area. Where previously a maximum of 4,000m2 was achieved with a four conventional luminaires, 11,000m2 is now achieved with a mere two luminaires.

ZAP Breezand | 70% savings

Z.A.P. Breezand is actively taking many steps towards becoming a fully sustainable club. For instance, the club recently had us replace its field lighting with Dark Light LED fixtures. Three football pitches and three tennis courts have been made fully sustainable in one go. With this investment, the club is not only progressive in terms of sustainability. Because of the nearby residents, it was very important for the club to prevent light pollution as well. With the help of a calculation and precise installation, this could be completely avoided. The saving percentage is over 25% higher than the other alternatives could offer. The lighting quality on the pitch also received a considerable upgrade, while the illuminance increased only moderately to 120lux.

Liebherr van der Spek

In cooperation with van der Spek-Vianen, we have developed a universal lighting solution for use in tower cranes. In doing so, we not only offered a sustainable alternative to conventional lighting but also made the relevant processes significantly more efficient. For example, transport costs to and from the construction site together with storage costs have been reduced by 90% and installation costs have been halved.

Novadock harbour cranes

Luminaires used: DCbright Orcas

When renovating three Liebherr LHM500 harbour cranes belonging to Adrigem B.V., JEL Products was able to supply a suitable lighting solution suitable for maritime use. Our quality products and thoughtful lighting design allowed us to triple the light intensity around the crane while reducing energy consumption by 50%. In addition, the installation is now suitable for the harsh conditions which means the crane can now continue to operate in the light even under the toughest conditions. In the picture, the crane is loading a Liebherr LR13000 crawler crane.

TBI goes green

TV 't Zand | 75% Savings

HLV Guliver

Commissioned by: Scaldis SMC
Luminaires used: DCbright Barracudas

The HLV Gulliver is one of two Heavy Lift Vessels owned by Antwerp-based Scaldis. Recently, this offshore work vessel was fitted with DCbright professional LED lighting. This work vessel is used for offshore infrastructure work such as construction and dismantling activities in deep water for the oil and gas industry and the installation of offshore wind farms. In addition, the HLV Gulliver is used for any type of heavy lifting work in challenging situations. DCbright Barracudas are mounted under the helipad, among others.
