The DarkLicht D is the simple outdoor floodlight within the DarkLicht family. While the DarkLicht M and the larger DarkLicht were developed for complex mast and crane applications, the D series has been deliberately kept simple: a single compact fixture with an internal driver, ready to connect directly to 90–305 VAC. Mount it, aim it, and you’re done. Thanks to the patented full-cut-off reflector, no light escapes upward or to the sides—all the light is directed onto the site, without disturbing nearby residents, traffic, or wildlife.
The series includes three power ratings: 60 W (10,300 lumens), 120 W (20,500 lumens), and 200 W (34,200 lumens), all with a net efficiency of 171 lm/W. The forward beam angle is adjustable on-site from 63° to 75° full cut-off, and the fixture can be tilted continuously by ±20°. This makes the DarkLicht D ideally suited for parking lots, construction sites, loading zones, and industrial sites.
The DarkLicht D is designed for situations where a standard floodlight causes too much disruption, but a complex lighting system is not necessary. Simplicity is key: no separate driver box, no special power supply, and no complicated configuration—but it does feature the patented reflector technology of the DarkLicht family.
The DarkLicht D is a logical choice when:
The DarkLicht D isn't the answer to every lighting question. It is precisely by being clear about this that we can provide better advice and achieve a better end result.
The DarkLicht D is usually not the right choice for:
For uniform workplace lighting without obstruction or glare.

The DarkLicht D excels particularly in fixed site lighting, where simplicity, efficiency, and minimal disruption come together. One fixture per location, internally powered, and all the light directed onto the site—not beside it.
For parking locations at businesses, shops, and residential areas. Uniform lighting without glare for drivers and without spill light towards homes, dimmable for a night mode.
For construction sites and temporary work locations that need to be illuminated quickly and with minimal permitting. Internal.
For outdoor areas, loading zones, and storage locations where work is done daily. The field-adjustable cut-off keeps light.
Where the NSVV guideline Light nuisance, DarkSky requirements, or the environmental permit require shielded light. With light colors from 1700K to 5700K, the implementation can be adjusted to nature and the environment.
The DarkLicht D is available in three power ratings, all with an internal driver and a 90–305 VAC power supply. The DL-D-60 and DL-D-120 share the same housing; the DL-D-200 is slightly longer to accommodate the higher output.

The DarkLicht D is the simple, affordable off-road floodlight in the DarkLicht family: three power ratings (60, 120, and 200 W), up to 34,200 lumens at 171 lm/W, an internal driver, and the patented full cut-off reflector. Ideal for parking lots, construction sites, and industrial areas that require effective lighting without light pollution and without complex installation.
The DarkLicht D stands out not only for its simplicity, but above all for its light control. The asymmetrical reflector with field-adjustable cutoff (63°–75°) directs all the light forward onto the site; above the cutoff, there is no light output. This allows you to determine exactly where the light boundary lies at the site boundary—not beyond it. The fixture can also be tilted continuously by ±20° for precise alignment.
The DarkLicht D was developed as a professional full-cut-off floodlight for daily outdoor use: an aluminum housing with a corrosion-resistant coating, IP67 sealing, an impact-resistant front (IK08), and an expected service life of 365,000 hours (L95B10). No separate driver box or vulnerable components—the driver is built-in.
The DarkLicht D is particularly useful where light quality at ground level matters: uniform illumination, no glare for drivers and pedestrians, and no light spill into the surrounding area. For projects where this must be substantiated—for example, for an environmental permit—JEL Products provides a customized lighting calculation, including the number of fixtures, their positions, and expected illuminance levels in lux.
The DarkLicht D is built to be rugged for permanent outdoor use, but is intentionally not equipped with the heavy-duty industrial options found on the DCbright floodlights. Does your environment require maximum impact resistance, higher IP ratings, or extreme temperatures? If so, the DarkLicht M, the large DarkLicht, or our DCbright floodlights are the more logical choices. That way, you’ll never pay for more than your application requires.
The DarkLicht D is a glare-free LED outdoor floodlight with an internal driver, available in 60, 120, and 200 W (10,300 to 34,200 lumens at 171 lm/W). It is the simplest floodlight in the DarkLicht family: designed for parking lots, construction sites, and industrial areas that require good lighting without causing light pollution.
The difference lies in the light control. A traditional floodlight emits light through a lens or open optics, which means that some of the light always escapes upward or to the sides—as glare and stray light. The DarkLicht D uses a patented parabolic reflector: above the adjustable cutoff (63°–75°), there is zero light emission, and all the light effectively illuminates the area.
The DarkLicht D is a floodlight—but with a full cut-off. It is intended for permanent outdoor lighting on a pole or building facade, not as a work light on a machine. For glare-free lighting mounted on machinery, the DarkLicht S and DarkLicht Mini are the appropriate choices.
Because more light isn't automatically better if it blinds drivers or shines into neighbors' homes. Glare is a safety hazard, and light pollution is increasingly leading to complaints and permit requirements. A glare-free floodlight provides the same amount of functional light on the property without those drawbacks — and is also DarkSky-friendly at low CCTs.
The DarkLicht D is designed for anyone who wants to illuminate an area easily and neatly: parking lot and industrial site managers, construction and infrastructure companies, municipalities, and installers. No specialized knowledge is required: built-in driver, 90–305 VAC—just install and aim.
Yes, that is precisely the key feature of the product. The DarkLicht D is fully shielded above the cutoff angle: anyone looking at it from a distance will not be looking directly into the light source. This increases safety for drivers and pedestrians on and around the site.
Light pollution control becomes important as soon as a site borders residential areas, roads, railways, or nature reserves — and for every application where the environmental permit or the NSVV guideline on light nuisance imposes requirements on stray light. In practice, this applies to most parking and construction sites in or near built-up areas.
Yes. The DarkLicht D delivers up to 34,200 lumens with a net efficiency of 171 lm/W. Because all the light is directed onto the site rather than into the surrounding area, the functional illuminance per watt is actually higher than that of a conventional floodlight.
Precisely because the light is controlled and directed forward, the mounting height and aiming angle determine the position of the light cutoff. The field-adjustable cut-off (63°–75°) and the stepless ±20° tilt make it easy to set that boundary precisely on-site.
Yes. It is precisely in locations sensitive to disturbance that this type of luminaire shows its true worth: fully shielded light, dimmable for a night mode, and available in low color temperatures (down to 1700K) for nature- and DarkSky-sensitive environments.
The DarkLicht S is a compact work light (60–75 W) designed for integration into machinery and vehicles, typically operating on 24 VDC. The DarkLicht D is a fixed outdoor floodlight: 60 to 200 W, with an internal mains-powered driver, designed to illuminate an area when mounted on a pole or building facade.
When a traditional floodlight causes too much glare in the surrounding area, or when a permit or regulation requires shielded light. While maintaining the same lighting level on the site, the DarkLicht D prevents glare and light spill—often using fewer fixtures thanks to its 171 lm/W.
The DarkLicht M is designed for heavier-duty applications: 150–300 W, up to 51,300 lumens, higher impact resistance, and intended for use on masts, cranes, and mobile light towers. The DarkLicht D is the simpler and more economical choice for fixed site lighting where the heavier version is not required.
When greater output, wider coverage, and a larger functional zone are required—for example, at port terminals and sports fields illuminated from tall masts. The large DarkLicht delivers over 300,000 lumens per fixture; the DarkLicht D is designed for standard areas below that.
Yes, this is the core application. The asymmetrical light distribution uniformly illuminates parking spaces and roadways, without glare for drivers and without stray light towards surrounding buildings. Dimmable for a night mode outside of operating hours.
Yes. The DarkLicht D is a good choice for construction sites because of its simplicity: just plug it into the site power supply (90–305 VAC), aim it, and you’re done. The cutoff ensures the light stays within the construction fences—which is important for inner-city projects and BREEAM goals.
The DarkLicht D is typically used on poles and facades ranging from approximately 4 to 12 meters, depending on power and the desired lighting level. The DarkLicht M and the larger DarkLicht are designed for taller poles and larger areas. A lighting calculation determines the optimal configuration.
Yes. With IP67 sealing, impact-resistant front (IK08), corrosion-resistant coating, and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +50°C, the luminaire is built for years of permanent outdoor use, with an expected lifespan of 345,000 hours (LM70).
Yes—that's what it's designed for. The DarkLicht D is the landscape lighting series within the DarkLicht family, with a warranty of up to 7 years for permanent landscape lighting applications.
The DarkLicht D is certified in accordance with CE and IEC 60598. CE certifies compliance with the applicable European directives; IEC 60598 is the international standard for lighting fixtures. In addition, the luminaire supports compliance with the NSVV Light Pollution Directive and—at low color temperatures—the most stringent DarkSky specifications. For specific project requirements, JEL Products can assess the certification status for each application.
Yes. The DarkLicht D is a good option for retrofitting when existing floodlights mounted on poles or facades cause a nuisance or consume too much energy. Thanks to the internal driver and the wide voltage range (90–305 VAC), a one-to-one replacement is usually possible using the existing connection.
No. The fixture is low-maintenance and has no consumables. The recommended inspection is limited to keeping the reflector opening clean and periodically checking the mounting and cable entry.
Yes. Precisely because the light is uniform and glare-free, visibility for drivers and pedestrians improves, and fewer dark spots and shadow edges occur. Good area lighting demonstrably contributes to social and traffic safety.
No. Do not use this product in explosion hazardous areas that require IECEx/ATEX certification. For such applications, we recommend discussing this in advance so that a suitable solution can be determined.
Yes. We are happy to help determine the right configuration: wattage, number of fixtures, pole height, cut-off setting, light color, and dimming schedule. If desired, supported by a lighting calculation for your site.
Three wattages: 60, 120 and 200 W with 10,300, 20,500 and 34,200 lumens (171 lm/W). IP67, IK08, internal driver, 90-305 VAC, -40°C to +50°C, lifespan 345,000 hours (LM70). Standard 4000K; optional 1700K to 5700K. Optics: asymmetric with field-adjustable cut-off 63°–75° and ±20° stepless tilt.
Yes. The DarkLicht D is dimmable via 0-10V as standard and is optionally available with DALI. This makes it easy to set up a night mode, twilight control, or integration with a building management system.
Yes. The correct implementation is determined based on terrain, mast height, and surroundings: power, light color (1700-5700K, also two-tone), CRI option, and dimming protocol can be configured per project.
Yes. This fixture is well-suited for applications where the lighting design must be substantiated in advance.
