The compact, glare-free work light: 4,800 lumens from 30 W, with full cut-off reflector optics for sensitivity-sensitive work areas.
Where a traditional work light dazzles the driver, coworkers, or traffic, the DarkLicht Mini keeps the light focused on the work area: full cut-off at a 75° forward angle. With a voltage range of 10 to 50 VDC, it fits virtually any vehicle electrical system, and at 1.0 kg, it’s the lightest in the family.

Not only light, but usable light without glare: for situations where operators, drivers, or bystanders are directly bothered by traditional work lights.
The DarkLicht Mini is not intended for every task. Being clear about the boundaries yields a better end result.
The DarkLicht Mini is available in a single DC version, kept purposely simple. Those looking for more non-blind output move on to the DarkLicht S; those looking for classic light distribution move to the Goby line.

The DarkLicht Mini does not have an external driver: the drivers are mounted on the circuit board, and the luminaire connects directly to the vehicle's electrical system via the Deutsch connector.

German two-pole, in the housing
The DC drivers are mounted on the circuit board inside the molded luminaire itself. This means there is no driver enclosure, no additional wiring, and no second mounting point: connecting it requires just one click on the DTP04 connector.
The fuse rating and wire gauge are determined by the vehicle's electrical system and current draw; for verification, we provide a lighting advice and installation calculation.
Not a lens but a reflector: the light tilts forward and is completely cut off at forward angles ranging from 63° to 75°. Above that angle, no light escapes toward the eyes or the surrounding area. If you’re unsure whether to choose one angle or the other, we’ll support your decision with a free lighting calculation.
| Optics | Beam angle 50 % | Veldhoek 10 % | Application distance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 63° cutoff | full cut-off | no light above the corner | high-altitude installation, directly above the work area |
| 66° cutoff | full cut-off | no light above the corner | intermediate size |
| 69° cutoff | full cut-off | no light above the corner | the default selection |
| 72° cutoff | full cut-off | no light above the corner | intermediate size |
| 75° cut-off | full cut-off | no light above the corner | low mounting, wide on the work surface |
The beam angle is the full angle between the directions in which the intensity has decreased to 50 % of the peak; the field angle is 10 %. The upward light output is 0 % at 0° tilt. Combinations of optics within a single luminaire are possible.
On machines and vehicles, the connection determines just as much as the bracket or a work light does whether it will last its full service life. The DarkLicht Mini is therefore designed around the Deutsch connector: no cable, no junction box, no cable gland.
The two-pole connector sits directly in the casting: connection is one click on the on-board network, without a cable, junction box, or cable gland as a source of failure.
The bracket is part of the cast design and is made of the same low-copper alloy. You can adjust the tilt angle to the selected cut-off angle.
You can select the cutoff angle for each position, ranging from 63° to 75°. The DarkLicht Mini shares the same reflector design as the larger DarkLicht S.
170 × 120 × 70 mm and 1.0 kg: the lightest work light in the family, for masts, frames, and cabins.
A fall protection cable is optionally available and is often a strict requirement when installed above a work area. The DRB-1 driver box houses the remote driver and is mounted directly behind the luminaire using the rear mount bracket. The Crane Light Stabilizer has its own product page. For tower cranes see also Tower crane lighting.

Where the DarkLicht Mini is installed in practice, and why there.
When working around asphalt pavers and road construction equipment, everyone operates within the light field. The full cut-off keeps the light focused on the work area and out of the eyes of the crew and traffic.
Working lights on equipment operating between traffic and buildings must never cause glare. Heijmans is equipping all its machinery with them.
On compact and solar-powered light poles, every watt-hour counts: 160 lm/W and a voltage range of up to 50 VDC make the Mini the industry standard.
In warehouses and at terminals, drivers and coworkers look directly into traditional work lights. The cutoff reflector prevents this without compromising visibility.
A traditional work light scatters light in all directions; the DarkLicht reflector tilts the light forward and cuts it off completely after the chosen angle. Above that angle, the light emission is zero: no glare for the driver, no nuisance to the surroundings or traffic.
The work surface remains powerfully and uniformly illuminated, because the light that would otherwise scatter away now ends up on the floor. The same reflector design is in the larger DarkLicht S and the fixed DarkLicht floodlight line.

For asphalt rollers, disposable equipment, and mobile lighting towers in populated areas, the DarkLicht line is the way to stay within light nuisance requirements without compromising on work light.

Is your question not listed, or would you like something calculated? An engineer will respond within 1 business day.
A standard work light scatters light in all directions, including into the eyes of the driver and those around him. The DarkLicht Mini features a full cut-off reflector: above the selected forward angle,63° to 75°,light emission is zero. The light that would otherwise be scattered is directed onto the work surface.
As soon as people work within the light field or the machine operates between traffic and buildings: asphalt paving crews, forklifts, disposable equipment, and mobile lighting towers in populated areas. Often, it is also the easiest way to comply with a light pollution condition in a permit.
The higher the lamp is hung, the steeper the angle: 63° for high mounting, 69° as a standard choice, 75° for low mounting wide on the work surface. We support this choice with a free lighting calculation.
Yes. The voltage range is 10 to 50 VDC, the widest in the work lamp family: 12, 24, 36, and 48 V electrical systems are all covered. The current draw is approximately 2.5 A at 12 V, 1.3 A at 24 V, and 0.8 A at 36 V.
The Deutsch DTP04 is the standard in vehicle and machine construction: waterproof, vibration-resistant, and can be mounted without a junction box or cable gland. Because the connector is integrated into the casting, there is no cable that can be damaged; connecting is just one click on the vehicle's electrical system.
Dimming is custom work, because the drivers on the board supply a constant current. Group switching is possible via the onboard power system. Bi-color, 4000K with amber 2200K and 1700K, is switchable during operation.
Amber 2200K and 3000K provide less scattering in fog and dust and less disturbance to the surroundings and fauna. In the dual-color version, you can switch between 4000K working light and amber during operation.
Yes. The luminaire has been tested to IP66, IP67, IP68, and IP69K. All of these classes are mentioned because they are different tests: IP69K is high-pressure and high-temperature steam jet, IP68 is immersion. One does not imply the other.
IK08 with impact-resistant glass can withstand normal industrial use and weather conditions. If maximum impact resistance (IK10) is a strict requirement, choose either the Goby or the Piranha from this product family.
The DarkLicht Mini achieves L90B05 for more than 103,500 hours: at that point, at least 95 % of the luminaires will still be delivering at least 90 % of their initial light output. That amounts to well over ten years of continuous operation, and is measured more stringently than the standard L70 and L80 specifications.
No. The luminaire is not intended for hazardous areas. If ATEX is a requirement, please discuss this in advance, and we will determine a suitable solution together.
Yes. Heijmans is equipping equipment with it, and it is a fixed OEM choice for mobile lighting towers. For series production, we tailor the cut-off angle, voltage, color temperature, and mounting to the machine architecture.
