The lens angle determines where the light ends up. Below are the measured angles from our own IES library, with the optic name as the order code next to it. An optic name is not a measured value: the 69° optic measures 72°. If you are in doubt between two angles, we will substantiate the choice with a free lighting calculation.

The beam angle is the full angle between the directions in which the intensity has decreased to 50 % of the peak; the field angle is 10 %. The upward light output is 0 % at 0° tilt. Combinations of optics within a single luminaire are possible.
On cranes, mobile light towers, and heavy equipment, the mounting method determines whether a luminaire will reach the end of its service life. The Shark shares the mounting system with the Barracuda, including the 200 G heavy-duty bracket.

A fall protection cable is optionally available and is often a strict requirement when installed above a work area. The Shark is the second generation on the Barracuda platform: with the same power rating of 320 W, it delivers 50,000 lm instead of 44,100, and weighs 9.2 kg instead of 10.1. The Barracuda remains the go-to choice when a more compact size or the 316L and HT versions are required. The Orca delivers 111,300 lm from a single 22.7-kg housing.
For large electric cranes and systems that operate on 48 V systems. The SHDC02 connects directly to these systems, without an external driver: approx. 6.7 A at 48 V. For the standard 24 V on-board power system, there is the SHDC01.
For the AC version with the BLD320 driver: 2 on a B16, 4 on a C16, 7 on a C25, and 8 on a D16. These figures are taken from the manufacturer’s MCB table at 220 V, calculated using ABB S200, and apply per driver. They are intended as a guideline for the engineering phase and are not a substitute for the installation calculation.
Yes. The AC version can be dimmed using 0–10 V, PWM, and DALI-2, and can also be configured via NFC. With the DC versions, dimming requires customization because they use a constant current.
That depends on the mounting height, the desired illuminance, the shape of the work area, and the operator’s line of sight. We support this with a light calculation. The datasheet lists the measured angle, not the optic name: the 69° optic measures 72°. Without optics (.NOP), the Shark provides a wide 120° distribution.
Yes. The housing contains less than 0.08 % copper to minimize galvanic corrosion and has a two-layer titanium-based e-coating; the bracket is made of 316L. This meets corrosion class C5 Industrial and Maritime standards. There is no fully 316L version of the Shark; if that requirement is mandatory, consider the Barracuda 316L or the Snapper 316L.
Yes. The luminaire has been tested to IP66, IP67, IP68, and IP69K. All of these classes are mentioned because they are different tests: IP69K is high-pressure and high-temperature steam jet, IP68 is immersion. One does not imply the other.
Yes. The vibration rating is 6 G at resonance, tested in accordance with IEC 60068-2-6, with shock testing in accordance with IEC 60068-2-27. For the most demanding load profiles, the heavy-duty bracket is available up to 200 G, and for crane booms, the Crane Light Stabilizer is available.
The 360,000 hours is a TM-21 L90B05 value: at that point, at least 95 % of the luminaires will still be delivering at least 90 % of their initial light output. This is more stringent than the standard L70 and L80 specifications. In practice, the LED is rarely the limiting factor; environmental conditions and installation quality determine the luminaire’s actual performance in the field.
No. The luminaire is not intended for hazardous areas. If ATEX is a requirement, please discuss this in advance, and we will determine a suitable solution together.
Yes. With DC versions in 24 V and 35–60 V, the .NOP option, and the shared mounting program, the Shark is designed for integration into cranes, light poles, and machines. For series production, we tailor the optics, voltage, color temperature, and mounting to the machine architecture.
