The lens angle determines where the light ends up. Below are the measured angles from our own IES library, with the optic name as the order code next to it. An optic name is not a measured value: the 69° optic measures 72°. If you are in doubt between two angles, we will substantiate the choice with a free lighting calculation.

The beam angle is the full angle between the directions in which the intensity has decreased to 50 % of the peak; the field angle is 10 %. The upward light output is 0 % at 0° tilt. Combinations of optics within a single luminaire are possible.
On machines and cranes, the mounting method determines whether a luminaire will last its full service life. The Marlin comes standard with a high-tensile-strength 316L bracket; for crane applications, the Crane Light Director is available as an accessory.

A crane accessory that keeps the Marlin positioned on the boom and aimed at the work area. We recommend checking whether the Director or the fixed bracket is suitable for each boom position.
A fall protection cable is optionally available and is often a strict requirement when installed above a work area. The DRB-1 driver box houses the remote TLD160 driver, either on the mast or in the cabinet. For tower cranes, see also Tower crane lighting.

Where the Marlin is installed in practice, and why there.
For ship, work deck, and functional work areas where moisture, salt, wind, and mechanical stress converge. IP69K and a titanium e-coating are standard.
For small crane zones, booms, platforms, and supporting positions where compactness and vibration resistance are important.
For steel, bulk handling, and manufacturing, where luminaires must withstand intensive and heavy-duty use.
For machine zones, service points, and mobile installations where more spread and output are required than a work light provides. The DC version connects directly to the vehicle electrical system.
In addition to the four standard light colors, the Marlin is available in a two-color version: 4000K neutral white for the work area and 2200K amber for situations where warm, insect-repellent light is desired; the colors can be switched during operation.
This allows a single luminaire to be used for both task and ambient lighting, without a second installation. The color rendering is standard CRI greater than 70, optionally 80 or 90, with a color consistency within 3-step MacAdam.

No. The Marlin is a compact floodlight with the build quality of a full-fledged heavy-duty luminaire: IK10, IP69K, and a 316L bracket. It bridges the gap between work lights such as the Piranha and the Goby and the heavier-duty floodlights such as the Barracuda.
The Snapper is lighter and delivers more lumens per kilogram: 31,000 lm from 3.1 kg, but with IK08 and IP68 ratings. The Marlin is more robustly built: IK10, IP69K, and 18,000 lm from 5.5 kg. Choose the Marlin where impact resistance and high-pressure cleaning are key, and the Snapper where weight is a factor.
For the AC version with the TLD160 driver: 8 on a B16, 13 on a C16, 21 on a C25, and 15 on a D16. These numbers come from the manufacturer's MCB table at 220 V, calculated using ABB S200, and apply per driver. Yes. The AC version dims via 0–10V, PWM, and DALI-2, and can also be configured via NFC. For the DC version, dimming is custom-made because a constant current is used there.
That depends on mounting height, desired illuminance, the shape of the work zone, and the operator's line of sight. We substantiate this with a lighting calculation, also providing the number of luminaires, their positioning, and the expected lux levels. The datasheet shows the measured angle, not the optic name: the 69° optic measures 72°.
Yes. The housing contains less than 0.08 % copper to minimize galvanic corrosion and has a two-layer titanium-based e-coating; the bracket is made of 316L. This corresponds to corrosion class C5 Industrial and Maritime. There is no fully 316L version of the Marlin; if that requirement is essential, consider the Snapper 316L or the Barracuda 316L.
Yes. The luminaire has been tested to IP66, IP67, IP68, and IP69K. All of these classes are mentioned because they are different tests: IP69K is high-pressure and high-temperature steam jet, IP68 is immersion. One does not imply the other.
Yes. The vibration rating is 6 G at resonance, tested in accordance with IEC 60068-2-6, with shock testing in accordance with IEC 60068-2-27. The Crane Light Director is available as an accessory for crane booms.
The 360,000 hours is a TM-21 L90B05 value: at that point, at least 95 % of the luminaires will still be delivering at least 90 % of their initial light output. This is more stringent than the standard L70 and L80 specifications. In practice, the LED is rarely the limiting factor; environmental conditions and installation quality determine the luminaire’s actual performance in the field.
No. The luminaire is not intended for hazardous areas. If ATEX is a requirement, please discuss this in advance, and we will determine a suitable solution together.
Yes. The DC version with DT04-2P Deutsch connector is designed for that: directly on the 24 V on-board network, without a separate driver. For serial production, we align optics, voltage version, color temperature, and mounting with the machine architecture.
CE, IEC 60598, EN 55015, EN 61547 and the EMC Directive. IEC 60598 covers construction, electrical safety, and thermal behavior. In addition, the luminaire helps meet EN 12464-2 for the safe lighting of industrial outdoor workplaces. Configurations for North America are available upon request.
