The large, glare-free work light: up to 12,825 lumens from 75 W, with full cut-off reflector optics for areas where glare is a concern.
Where a traditional work light would blind the driver, a coworker, or oncoming traffic, the DarkLicht S keeps the light focused on the work area: full cut-off at the selected forward angle. With the output of a small floodlight, this is the most powerful non-glare work light in the family, available in two power ratings.

Plenty of light and usable light: for work zones that need powerful illumination while traditional work lights cause too much glare there.
The DarkLicht S is not intended for every task. Being clear about its limitations leads to a better end result.
The DarkLicht S is available as S60 and S75, both DC. Those who want something more compact can step back to the DarkLicht Mini; those looking for the principle on a site scale can turn to the fixed DarkLicht full cut-off floodlight line.

The DarkLicht S does not have an external driver: the drivers are mounted on the circuit board, and the luminaire connects directly to the vehicle's electrical system via a short cable and a Deutsch connector.

The DC drivers are mounted on the circuit board inside the molded luminaire itself. This means there is no driver enclosure, no additional wiring, and no second mounting point: connecting it requires just one click onto the DT04-2P connector on the short, pre-assembled cable.
The fuse rating and wire gauge are determined by the vehicle's electrical system and current draw; for verification, we provide a lighting advice and installation calculation.
Not a lens but a reflector: the light tilts forward and is completely cut off at forward angles ranging from 63° to 75°. Above that angle, no light escapes toward the eyes or the surrounding area. If you’re unsure whether to choose one angle or the other, we’ll support your decision with a free lighting calculation.
| Optics | Bundle Angle 50 % | Veldhoek 10 % | Application distance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 63° cutoff | full cut-off | no light above the corner | high-altitude installation, directly above the work area |
| 66° cutoff | full cut-off | no light above the corner | intermediate size |
| 69° cutoff | full cut-off | no light above the corner | the default selection |
| 72° cutoff | full cut-off | no light above the corner | intermediate size |
| 75° cut-off | full cut-off | no light above the corner | low mounting, wide on the work surface |
The beam angle is the full angle between the directions in which the intensity has decreased to 50 % of the peak; the field angle is 10 %. The upward light output is 0 % at 0° tilt. Combinations of optics within a single luminaire are possible.
On machines and masts, the connection determines just as well whether the bracket or a work light will reach its lifespan. The DarkLicht S combines the short cable with Deutsch connector with a 316L bracket.
Short pre-assembled 0.3 m cable with DT04-2P: one click on the vehicle's electrical system, without a junction box or cable gland as a source of failure.
High tensile strength stainless steel bracket. The tilt range is deliberately limited: the cut-off angle does the aiming work, the bracket the fine adjustment.
You choose the cut-off angle per position, from 63° to 75°. The reflector design shares the DarkLicht S with the compact Mini and the fixed floodlight line.
Up to 12,825 lumens per luminaire: enough for a complete machine zone, without upward or sideways stray light.
A fall protection cable is optionally available and is often a strict requirement when installed above a work area. The DRB-1 driver box houses the remote driver and is mounted directly behind the luminaire using the rear mount bracket. The Crane Light Stabilizer has its own product page. For tower cranes see also Tower crane lighting.

Where the DarkLicht S is located in practice, and why there.
When working around asphalt pavers and road construction equipment, everyone operates within the light field. The full cut-off keeps the light focused on the work area and out of the eyes of the crew and traffic.
Working lights on equipment operating between traffic and buildings must never cause glare. Heijmans is equipping all its machinery with them.
On haul trucks and heavy equipment, the S provides the output of a small floodlight without blinding the operator of oncoming traffic.
One S75 illuminates a complete machine zone uniformly, with zero light emission above the chosen angle.
A traditional work light scatters light in all directions; the DarkLicht reflector tilts the light forward and cuts it off completely after the chosen angle. Above that angle, the light emission is zero: no glare for the driver, no nuisance to the surroundings or traffic.
The work surface remains powerfully and uniformly illuminated, because the light that would otherwise scatter away now lands on the floor. The same reflector design is used in the compact DarkLicht Mini and the fixed DarkLicht floodlight series.

Vibration-resistant up to 6 G at resonance in accordance with IEC 60068-2-6, with shock testing in accordance with IEC 60068-2-27.
For asphalt rollers, disposable equipment, and mobile lighting towers in populated areas, the DarkLicht line is the way to stay within light nuisance requirements without compromising on work light.

A standard work lamp spreads light in all directions, including into the eyes of the driver and those around him. The DarkLicht S features a full cut-off reflector: above the selected forward angle—63° to 75°—light emission is zero. The light that would otherwise be scattered is directed onto the work surface.
The S60 operates on 9–32 V and thus covers 12- and 24-volt electrical systems: 10,260 lumens from 60 W. The S75 requires 20–32 V and delivers 12,825 lumens from 75 W, the most powerful non-glare work light in the family. If the vehicle's electrical system is 12 V, the S60 is the choice.
The same reflector principle across three scales: the Mini (4,800 lm, 1.0 kg) for compact positions, the S (up to 12,825 lm) for machine zones, and the fixed DarkLicht area floodlight line for site and mast lighting up to over 100,000 lumens.
The higher the lamp is hung, the steeper the angle: 63° for high mounting, 69° as a standard choice, 75° for low mounting wide on the work surface. We support this choice with a free lighting calculation.
As soon as people are working in the light beam or the machine is operating between traffic and buildings: asphalt pavers, disposable equipment, heavy equipment with oncoming traffic. Often it is also the easiest way to meet a light pollution condition in a permit.
Dimming is custom work, because the drivers on the board supply a constant current. Group switching is possible via the onboard power system. Bi-color, 4000K with amber 2200K and 1700K, is switchable during operation.
Amber 2200K and 3000K provide less scattering in fog and dust and less disturbance to the surroundings and fauna. In the dual-color version, you can switch between 4000K working light and amber during operation.
Yes. The luminaire has been tested to IP66, IP67, IP68, and IP69K. All of these classes are mentioned because they are different tests: IP69K is high-pressure and high-temperature steam jet, IP68 is immersion. One does not imply the other.
IK08 with impact-resistant glass can withstand normal industrial use and weather conditions. If maximum impact resistance (IK10) is a strict requirement, choose either the Goby or the Piranha from this product family.
The DarkLicht S exceeds L90B05 by more than 103,500 hours: at that point, at least 95 of the % luminaires will still be delivering at least 90 % of their initial light output. That represents well over ten years of continuous operation, and is a more stringent standard than the standard L70 and L80 specifications.
No. The luminaire is not intended for hazardous areas. If ATEX is a requirement, please discuss this in advance, and we will determine a suitable solution together.
Yes. Heijmans equips its machines with this technology. For mass production, we tailor the cut-off angle, power, color temperature, and mounting to the machine architecture.
