Discover our Shark

The Shark LED Floodlight combines lightweight design with exceptional lighting performance, making it the ideal choice for heavy industrial applications where both efficiency as mobility matter. With an output of 320 W and a light output of up to 50,000 lumens, the Shark offers a surprisingly high lumen-per-kilo ratio, giving you maximum illumination with minimal extra load on your machines or installations.

Whether you are dealing with cranes, large excavators, light masts or even offshore environments, the Shark is designed to stand its ground in harsh industrial conditions, coated with 93 % titanium and IP69K certification. This makes it not only extremely robust and corrosion-resistant, but also remarkably light and easy to handle.

Core value of the Shark

Focus on lightweighting

With a total weight of around 9 kg (incl. bracket), the Shark is considerably lighter than other floodlights with the same lumen output, providing:

  • Easy mounting requires less manpower and lifting equipment during installation, making it quicker to install.
  • Power outputs up to 320W also in direct voltage (dc) where the net light output can even reach 50,000 lumens.
  • Increased flexibility Light enough to reposition if working conditions change.

Shark in a nutshell

Origin and application

In the product family between the Barracuda and the Orca the Shark occupies a unique position. It offers the high efficiency of the Orca with an even lighter design than the Barracuda, allowing it to excel in situations where weight and size play a role.

  • Mobile light towers: where in spotlight configuration it shines up to hundreds of metres away and, with its light weight, can be easily installed by one person.
  • Heavy construction equipment: such as cranes and foundation equipment, where people still want the lowest possible overall weight.
  • Offshore and marine applications: thanks to corrosion-resistant coating shared with all our other DCbright models.

Technical highlights

Thermal conductivity and durability

  • Cooling fins for industrial use: Maximum heat dissipation for constant and stable performance of LEDs.
  • Aluminium alloy with e-coating: <0.08% copper with coating that protects against corrosion, chemicals and intensive weather conditions.
  • IK10 impact rating: the Shark is built for impact and resistant to bumps, shocks and vibrations.

Light output and efficiency

  • Power range: 320W (available in both AC and DC)
  • Brightness: 46,000 (DC) - 50,000 (AC) lumens

Find out where the Shark is used

Applications of the Shark

Construction and cranes

For large construction equipment (such as cranes and foundation equipment), space is often less of an issue, but extreme robustness is. The Shark offers reliable and stable light output and minimal downtime in environments where this is hugely important.

Mining

In mining and bulk handling, shock and dust resistance is crucial. The Shark was developed specifically for this market 13 years ago. Rough terrain conditions and shocks up to 200 G when using reinforced brackets are no problem.

Offshore and ports

Sea air and salt water take their toll on equipment. With our titanium-coated and optional stainless steel housing (316L), the Shark has excellent corrosion resistance. Ideal for harbour cranes, offshore platforms and terminals.

Mobile lighting masts

Light enough to easily mount on (mobile) light towers, strong enough to light a large area. Offers a great mix of power and manoeuvrability. Available in AC and DC for various power supply options.

Do you have a question?

Frequently asked questions

How does the Shark compare to the Barracuda or Orca?

The Shark focuses on lightweight design and slightly higher efficiency (lm/W). The Barracuda is more compact and even more robust, while the Orca focuses mainly on extreme lumen output (above 100,000 lumens).

The Shark is available with 14° (diffuser), 38° (medium-wide), 69° (wide), and 14×46° (asymmetric flare optics). Our experts will help you choose the right lens for your crane or port operation.

Yes, thanks to its high IP69K rating, the Shark has maximum protection against dust, rain and storms, ideal for outdoor and industrial applications. More on IP and IK protection ratings in this item.

Is the Shark also available in high-temperature variants?

Currently, the standard operating temperature is up to +50°C. For extreme heat environments, please refer to e.g. our Barracuda HT or Orca HT.

Yes, we operate in the global market and can supply our products and services worldwide. Our international experience enables us to meet the needs of end-users around the world.

Yes, we offer test copies by arrangement. Contact our experts for the possibilities.

Can I combine the Shark with different lens options in one project?

Yes, on the contrary, we recommend choosing the right lens for each position to ensure optimal light distribution across your entire work area.

The default lifetime is 196.000hour (L80B10), equivalent to 25+ years in average industrial use.

It depends on your power supply. We offer both AC (90-305V and 180-528V) and DC (20-35V) variants.

Controlled light works better

The right lenses put light where it belongs

The Shark is equipped with high-quality lenses that optimally concentrate and direct the LED light to the desired working area. Choose a narrow spot beam (14°) to brightly illuminate distant points, or go for wider angles to provide even illumination of a larger area. In this way, you tailor the beam perfectly to your specific application. Whether lifting activities, inspection work or creating an uncluttered work area.

Highly efficient LED floodlight

Innovative Dutch design

At JEL Products we continue to innovate. Our lighting solutions are designed in the Netherlands in cooperation with leading machine builders from the European market to achieve affordable and universal total solutions for the global market. This has resulted in:

  • LED Floodlight: IP69K and IK10 resistant floodlight with a very compact size.
  • Durability and reliability: Proven to perform in demanding environments, the Shark has been in use for more than 13 years in mines in Australia, Africa, Europe, Middle East and America. There, it defies the harsh conditions that mining equipment must also withstand.

Safe working thanks to Shark LED floodlights

The Shark LED Floodlight offers a perfect balance between weight, power and reliability. With up to 50,000 lumens, IP69K protection and a thorough focus on corrosion resistance, the Shark is the choice for industrial applications that require lots of light but do not want to compromise on mobility and ease of mounting.

Forward-thinking operators, machinists and machine manufacturers choose our lighting to maximise workplace safety and really see where they are working. Never stand in the dark again due to broken and inadequate lights. Avoid expensive replacement and choose a work lamp that does last throughout your operations. Essential at a time when sustainability and environmentally conscious construction are key.

When applying LED floodlights, always check EN 12464-2 for safe lighting of your outdoor industrial workplace

For years, for example, the Shark has been helping crane companies and industrial operators to meet the EN 12464-2 standardisation for safe outdoor lighting, by combining high light output with easy installation and minimal energy waste.

Why is this important for businesses?

  • Worker safety: Sufficient lighting reduces the risk of accidents.
  • Legal compliance: Failure to meet the standard can lead to legal consequences and fines. In addition, you are fully liable in the event of an accident with inadequate lighting.
  • Efficiency and productivity: Good lighting improves visibility, making work more efficient and accurate.
  • Image and reputation: Companies that comply with safety standards and environmental requirements show their commitment to the welfare of their employees and the environment.

Our lighting solutions are designed to meet the requirements of the European established standard EN 12464-2 when it comes to product properties. If you also wish to meet the technical requirements, please contact our lighting experts.
