Off-road and heavy equipment
Rugged LED driving lights and work lights that survive shocks, dust and stone chips, and at 131 net lumens per watt the most efficient in their class.
When you’re driving fast over unfamiliar and rough terrain, visibility determines whether you’ll spot an obstacle in time. The housing is subjected to the same stresses as the vehicle itself: vibrations, dust, branches, and rocks. We’ve modified the proven industrial DCbright enclosures specifically for these conditions. Trusted by the DAKAR team Eurol Rallysport De Rooy, which took 3rd and 4th place in 2023.

The solution
When traveling at high speed over unfamiliar and rough terrain, being able to see your surroundings is crucial for avoiding obstacles in time. In the dark, high-beam headlights take care of that. Just like the vehicle itself, the housing of these lights is subjected to shocks, dust, and impacts from branches and rocks.
To that end we developed an extremely rugged LED luminaire: a series of modifications to the proven DCbright industrial housings, which lend themselves precisely to these extreme off-road conditions. Not a consumer lamp with a tough name, but an industrial luminaire adapted to the trail.
With a net efficiency of 131 lumens per watt we are, to our knowledge, the only ones who have made an LED driving light this efficient for these environments. Net here means: measured after the optic, not the luminous flux of the LEDs themselves.
Our powerhouse, the Piranha PI9.
Evidence
Team Eurol Rallysport De Rooy competed in the 2023 Dakar Rally with our Piranha PI9 and finished in 3rd and 4th place. Two weeks of dunes, rocks, heat, and vibrations: that’s a tougher test than any standard can describe, and it’s why we’re confident in offering these lights to teams for whom a DNF costs a race.
The same luminaires are mounted on cranes, mining machinery and offshore installations. For us the trail is not a separate product line, but the same build with a different bracket.

Lighting plan
Driving lights for trail reach, wide work lights for bivouac and pit stop, and robust floodlights that survive shocks, dust, and mud. Together they form one well-thought-out lighting plan; apart from each other, there is always a gap.
Layer 1
On the trail, you want to see far enough ahead to still be able to react. A narrow beam casts light far ahead; with the spot optic, you can reach up to approximately 700 meters. This is the light that determines how fast you dare to ride.
Layer 2
At the camp, on the side of the vehicle, or above the toolbox, you want broad and even light, without looking into your own beam. Compact, lightweight, and with a mounting position that fits anywhere.
Layer 3
Where more luminous flux is needed than a work light provides, without the weight getting out of hand. The same cast construction as the industrial fixtures, with the bracket tailored to the rig.
Luminaires
From pod lights to floodlights. All models are IP69K-rated; the DCbright work lights are IK10-rated, and the DarkLicht models are IK08-rated with glare-free optics.

Applications
Do you drive a 4×4, an overland rig or a rally car? The combination differs, the build underneath does not.
For the overland driver and expedition 4×4 that drives for days on end in remote terrain. You want reach for the trail and broad work light at camp, in a lamp that withstands dust, mud and vibration for years. Reliable light that takes on Rigid and Vision X, but more efficient per watt.
Typical products
For competitive teams where lighting must be of the absolute highest standard. Our work lights are among the most efficient fixtures per watt and, perhaps even more importantly, per kilo.
Typical products
For rally, racing, and competition where every second and every gram counts. Maximum range with minimal power draw, extreme shock and vibration resistance, and a beam of light that allows you to read the trail at top speed. Tested under Dakar conditions by Team Eurol Rallysport De Rooy.

Conditions
Every claim carries its condition in the same sentence. You can read more about the test methods at Product Quality and Warranty.
Dust and water · IP69K
High-pressure jet
IP69K means a high-pressure, high-temperature steam jet, stricter than the IP67 that is common in this market. After a day in sand or mud the lance goes over it without anything getting in.
Impact · IK10
20 joules
IK10 refers to a 20-joule impact test on the front. That’s the class designed to withstand branches and flying rocks. The DarkLicht models are rated IK08; you choose those for glare-free light, not for the heaviest impacts.
