For a project by Mammoet, we were allowed to fit the 194-metre-long PTC200DS ring crane, with a lifting capacity of no less than 5 thousand tonnes (yes, that's 5,000,000 kilos), with a sophisticated lighting solution. The crane was erected along the coast of Norway, where it will be used for a long period to assemble several large wind turbines for offshore power generation.

With a diameter of 210 metres, a height of 46 metres and a covered area of over 34,636 square metres, the Jeddah Superdome breaks through two world records for building construction.Firstly, it is now the largest continuous (non-segmented, non-public) dome, a record previously held by the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, secondly, it is now also the world's largest geodesic dome. For the construction of this innovative project, JEL Products was able to design and supply a thoughtful lighting solution that allowed the construction of the dome to continue during evening hours under the required working conditions.

Ballast Nedam and Heddes Bouw & Ontwikkeling B.V. are making the most of the switch to sustainable with Darklicht LED luminaires. Ballast Nedam Materieel is replacing all existing conventional 2 Kilowatt luminaires. This results in huge energy savings of no less than 73%, in addition, the unique properties of the Darklicht luminaire make the investment a socially responsible choice. This is because it is the only LED luminaire in the market suitable for these purposes that features full light shielding. This allows the construction site to be illuminated in line with applicable regulations (such as NEN-12464-2) without the same high light intensity radiating far beyond the boundaries of the construction site. In concrete terms, this means: no glare for nearby residents or nature and extremely efficient use of light and thus energy.

When renovating three Liebherr LHM500 harbour cranes belonging to Adrigem B.V., JEL Products was able to supply a suitable lighting solution suitable for maritime use. Our quality products and thoughtful lighting design allowed us to triple the light intensity around the crane while reducing energy consumption by 50%. In addition, the installation is now suitable for the harsh conditions which means the crane can now continue to operate in the light even under the toughest conditions. Mammoet Netherlands recently received a world first. The company was the first in the world to receive Liebherr's updated LTM1650-8.1 telescopic crane. This gigantic 8-axle has a maximum lifting capacity of 700 tonnes. The new crane brings with it many technological developments. JEL Products recently fitted the HLV Gulliver, one of two Heavy Lift Vessels owned by the company Scaldis in Antwerp, with professional DCbright Barracuda LED lighting. This upgrade improves visibility and safety during offshore infrastructure work, such as deepwater construction and decommissioning for the oil and gas industry and the installation of offshore wind farms. The HLV Gulliver can be used for various heavy lifting operations in challenging conditions. The Barracuda luminaires are mounted under the helipad, among others, contributing to optimal lighting in critical areas.

JEL Products has fitted the Bokalift 2, a crane vessel belonging to Dutch dredging company Boskalis, with innovative LED lighting. The previously installed lighting from a reputable brand proved inadequate, necessitating an upgrade. With the new DCbright Orca, Barracuda and DarkLicht luminaires, visibility and safety both on deck and in the working area under the crane have been greatly improved. In the high-risk environment of the Bokalift 2, reliable lighting is crucial for safe operations. In addition, the efficient LED technology ensures increased durability and lower energy consumption, further ensuring the reliability of the lighting installation and thus safety.

JEL Products, together with a specialist offshore partner, carried out an ambitious project for Siemens. This involved installing more than 400 DCbright Moray MO-16 luminaires on the foundations of over 100 offshore wind turbines. Vlaardingen-based DFDS Seaways knew what savings could be made, having previously equipped another terminal with JEL Products luminaires in 2021. Now in 2023, the company has commissioned JEL Products to also retrofit the existing terminal in Vlaardingen with new luminaires at a savings of no less than 53%. The complete work also included replacing damaged light poles and replacing the electrical installation.

For Heijmans infra, we converted light towers from conventional luminaires to the latest development in light emission and light pollution control. This resulted in energy savings of 80% on top of an enormous gain in illuminated area. Where previously a maximum of 4,000m2 was achieved with a four conventional luminaires, 11,000m2 is now achieved with a mere two luminaires.

Thanks to the new lighting at the loading bay of the recovery vehicle that does not blind traffic, the hazard lights are more visible. This achieves a huge improvement in safety, drivers also report.

Commissioned by LW Techniek from Beilen, JEL Products has started converting all its light towers to sustainable and light pollution-free 24VDC luminaires. Using the latest technology in lighting, the towers are capable of illuminating more than 2000m2 with only 240W of total power consumption.

On behalf of Rockwool Croatia, JEL Products carried out a large-scale project using IR-resistant Barracuda HT LED Floodlights. These industrial luminaires were installed throughout the factory to meet the high temperatures and harsh conditions. The Barracuda HT series is known for its durable construction and excellent energy efficiency, ensuring a reliable and safe lighting solution for stone wool production.

Leading European paper manufacturer, has chosen JEL Products's stainless steel Snapper HT luminaires. These LED lights can withstand the harsh corrosive conditions in paper production and have been operating smoothly for some time. Thanks to the combination of stainless steel materials, high IP rating and special heat resistance, the Snapper HT series is ideally suited for long-term use in demanding industrial processes.

TATA Steel has engaged JEL Products to supply Barracuda HT luminaires capable of withstanding temperatures of up to +120°C. The infrared-resistant floodlights were installed at the hot metal bucket processing site, an environment with extreme heat and dusty conditions. Thanks to their solid construction and high IP rating, these LED luminaires provide optimum visibility and safety at the heart of the steel production process.

For a military supplier, JEL Products installed the Snapper HT luminaires in a climate chamber capable of temperatures ranging from -45°C to +110°C. These versatile LED luminaires are designed to withstand shock, temperature changes and moisture, making them ideal for demanding test and development environments. During preparations for DAKAR 2023, JEL Products fitted one of EUROL Rallysport Team De Rooy's race vehicles with new LED lighting. In addition, the lighting in the bivouac has been thoroughly updated with bright, energy-efficient lamps. The tents are equipped with robust, specialised fluorescent fixtures, while the large service truck features an extendable mast with floodlights of no less than 32,000 lumens each.
